Since 2011 I’ve helped thousands of customers light their deck, so I know a thing or two when it comes to deck lighting.

I just love lighting, it’s like it’s own form of artwork… and… good lighting sets the mood and brings a place to life.

And there’s nothing better than sitting out on a deck of an evening enjoying a nice cold beer or glass of wine.

You’ve gone to all that effort to build your deck so you want get the best lights in it you can.

I’ve found you can’t get the best quality product for the lowest price…

Go try and buy a brand new Mercedes for the price of a Fiat. Not going to happen.

So with that in mind, here’s some smart tips for buying deck lights

#1 The Secret To High Quality Low Voltage Lighting

You may have noticed with some low voltage lighting that the lights flicker, or the lights furthest from the power source are not as bright as the lights at the start of the run.

There’s a reason for this…

Voltage drop.

And, a lot of what cause voltage drop in low voltage lighting is thin cable.

The further electricity has to travel the thicker the cable you want.

So if you want even lighting all the way around your deck get the think robust cable.

See that photo there? That’s the cable that our lights and systems are made with. Our customers can run 40-50 meters of cable and get even lighting.

#2 Get Marine Grade Aluminum Rust Proof Deck Lights

You might have heard of 316 Stainless Steel and how it’s touted as being rust proof. Forget that shit, it rust in high salt areas you’re lucky to get 6 months before the rust shows.

We only manufacture and sell Marine Grade Aluminum deck lights because they are proven more rust resistant than 316 stainless steel.

#3 Get A System That’s Highly Flexible

A lot of deck light systems on the market have set spacing, and the deck lights themselves have very short tails.

This restricts where you can place the deck lights in your deck which affects the final look.

Our deck lights come with 1m tails which means… when you plug them into the main deck light power cable, you can space them from 1m apart up to 1.9m apart.

#4 Get A System Built For Tough Conditions

ou want a system that’s build for all sorts of tough outdoor conditions. With think cabling, Marine Grade Aluminum body and faces, and high IP67 Water proof rating our lights are made to with stand harsh outdoor conditions.

And the components used inside to make our lights are high quality parts, and the lights come with a 2 year warranty. So you’ll get great deck lighting for years.
